Love or marriage—throughout her decade-long career in Dhallywood, actress Pori Moni has often been surrounded by rumors. Yet, she rarely lets gossip bother her.
Sometimes it’s whispers about her and actor Siam Ahmed, other times about her and young singer Sheikh Sadi. Before she began her film career, she was married to her cousin Ismail, though she never spoke publicly about it.
In Maasranga Television’s show “Behind the Fame with RRK,” Pori Moni openly discussed these rumors—something she seldom does. She also revealed details about her first marriage during the interview.
When host Rumman Rashid Khan asked, “Is Sheikh Sadi your boyfriend?” Pori Moni laughed and replied,
“He’s like my younger brother. Just like a little brother to me.”
The interviewer asked, “Are you single right now?”
Pori Moni replied, “No.”
When asked if she’s in a relationship with someone, she said, “I don’t know. Listen, even if I say I’m single, no one will believe me.”
Why not?
“I don’t even believe it myself,” she laughed. “Somehow, I always feel like I’m in love—and honestly, it feels nice to have that feeling.”
When asked how many times she’s been married, Pori Moni said, “Once.”
The host then asked, “You mean Shariful Raj? Then why do we hear about other marriages?”
Pori Moni replied with a laugh, “I don’t know—maybe they were all just honorary husbands! The divorces just
never seemed official!”
